Digital Skills Wallet
The project aims to create a community-driven digital platform for the acquisition and assessment of digital competence, utilizing micro-credentials aligned with the DigiComp framework's five competence areas: Information and Data Literacy, Communication and Collaboration, Digital Content Creation, Safety, and Problem Solving. The platform enables educators, including ICT trainers and teachers, to contribute learning content and assessment questions linked to these micro-credentials. Contributions will be evaluated for quality through a peer review process and user feedback.
Learners seeking micro-credentials can take personalized assessments tailored to their chosen competence areas and preferred technologies. Upon completion, they receive a Micro-credentials Transcript detailing their assessed competencies and a personalized learning path with suggested courses for any remaining learning outcomes (LOs) necessary for additional micro-credentials. Users can store issued micro-credentials in a Digital Skills Wallet and may retake assessments as needed.
The platform consists of three modules: the first module is an Authoring Tool that allows the creation of various question types linked to micro-credentials and relevant software/apps; the second module is a Mooc System that facilitates the upload of bite-sized courses aligned with learning outcomes and micro-credentials; and the third module is an Intelligent System that generates personalized assessments based on user preferences and provides a transcript of issued and pending micro-credentials. This intelligent module also incorporates AI capabilities to suggest personalized learning paths for acquiring remaining LOs.
