Development of an innovative Virtual Reality educational game aimed at educating children and adults on maritime safety and water sports

The project focused on the development of an advanced interactive virtual reality game aimed at educating children and young people on maritime safety and water-related sports and recreational activities. As part of the project, a platform was developed to present educational scenarios for children aged 12-17 in the form of an interactive VR game. The platform included a management tool that allowed real-time adjustment of scenarios to suit the target group, enabling different difficulty levels and the creation of new scenarios. For the game’s development, basic safety rules were documented and incorporated into the game, combining learning with entertainment. The game’s themes focused on safety during beach stays, swimming, and participation in sports and recreational water activities. A realistic 3D graphical environment representing an actual beach was created. The project, code-named T2EDK-00799, was implemented under the "Research - Create - Innovate" Action (2nd Cycle) funded by the "Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation" Operational Program (EPAnEK) under the 2014-2020 NSRF.
